Leaving London

I first started my Postgraduate certificate in 2003. Until then everything was going under a strict schedule. My Bachelor, my diploma in Piano,Harmony, Counterpoint were finished one after the other. I do like order in my life. Then suddenly in 2004 I decided to work as a waitress to get all the responsibilities out of my head and plan my next adventure. A nice little trip to America. I indeed managed to do that because I was determined to make the most out of working in a restaurant and saving money at the same time. The summer of 2005 was relaxing!During that time I had a plan back in my mind. I'd look for a proper job(that is, a job that would relate to my subject-music)the following November. So, there you go...Up until then my life was in full mode. Nothing could prevent me from planning and dreaming and having ambitions.
Therefore, I moved in the U.K that November because I thought it would be probably easier to find a job in London. Plus, the industry here is huge and more opportunities might be available. How wrong was I? My job hunt hasn't stopped since then. After looking for a vacancy as a music supervisor in TV and films I got dissapointed. To my surprise if you didn't know anyone from the industry it would be extremely difficult to get involved. That reminded me the greek mentality for a while. The time was going by and I said to myself "maybe I should look for ANY job in the media domain".Thus, my next search was for the vacancy of a runner(to paidi gia oles tis douleies). You can't even imagine the amount of job applications I have filled in and the rejects or non responses I have received during the last 1 1/2 years. There were some little jobs now and then but nothing serious. As you can tell this chain of order has already broken and now I'm in a situation where I have to take some sort of action.
My decision: well, to begin with in March 2007 I travelled to Nigeria. To see the cruel conditions of life over there made me most of all sceptical and came to the conclusion that I could do anything really in this life. No matter what I've studied I had already the basics. A nice home, a strong car, my family, my health, love, a country house...However, a job makes you feel strong about yourself. Being productive you have a desire to conquer the world.Your self esteem is on its highest. So, when I came back to London, I decided to change my focus of desire and work in the fashion industry. I had plans to begin working late June or beginning of July. Then change of psyche occured. I finally changed my mind because I knew that I've put myself in a compromise. By now you'd think I'm stupid. Maybe I am, but maybe I want the best for me because 17 years of studying the piano is not worth of any compromise whatsoever. The moment I decided to go back to Greece I became happier, more relaxed and quite optimistic that I'd find what I'm looking for. The only bad issue here is that from anergi(which means unemployed because you can't find a job) I might have transformed into an aergi(which means unemployed because you don't want to work).
I can't be anything else but hopeful about the future and ready to start planning!

When I was young I've always wanted to be an astronaut or at least visit space and watch the earth rotating. In a few years I'll be able to travel to space as a tourist. Now, how cool is that?

Watching Wimbledon tennis 2007, made me hopeful about the future of our two champions Eleni Daniilidou and Marcos Baghdatis. Although Eleni lost on the second round, she stood among her opponents with great courage and decency. Marcos came through until the quarter finals, where he had a very strong player opposite to him, Djokovic. The game lasted 5 hours and my agony was at least at the maximum during the whole game. Not even the Marathon athletes run for 5 hours! Can you imagine?
Good luck for both of them and bless them to stand as two strong players among other best athletes!
